• Whom should I call when a family member’s death occurs?
  • Call your family doctor so he or she can issue the Death Certificate, and then call Agustin Merino, where our Funeral Advisors will assist, guide and advise you on immediate procedures and insurance coverage for burial services.

  • What documentation is needed for the doctor to issue the death certificate?
  • You must have the government-issued identification of the deceased person (national ID card (DNI), passport, or immigration card (carnet de extranjería)) in order to correctly issue the Death Certificate.

  • What arrangements should I make?
  • If the deceased has not left any prior indications for this day, the family should discuss what type of service they will choose (burial or cremation), where they wish to perform the wake (home, funeral parlor or no wake, leaving the remains in the custody of the funeral home). Which cemetery will be chosen should also be discussed.

Allow our advisors to support you with reserving the funeral parlor for the desired time for burial or cremation in the chosen cemetery.

  • When should I notify family and friends?
  • We advise notifying them when the immediate family has already commenced funeral preparations and know where the wake will take place, as well as the time and place of burial/cremation.

  • Who is in charge of registering the death certificate?
  • We will take care of registering the death in RENIEC for you.

  • If I use insurance to cover the funeral expenses, who will advise me on the recovery process of funds? Can I submit it to the funeral establishment to be used as part of payment of the chosen service?
  • Our advisors will inform you about the procedures to follow. Also, if you want, you can endorse them to be used as part of payment of the chosen service.
